Your Privacy is our first concern

Reed Construction Data is an advocate of the Protection and Electronic Documents Act and we are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers, and clients. We value your business and the trust of those we deal with and recognize that trust requires that we be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information you choose to share with us.

We require you to provide us with certain information about yourself when you register with this Site and when you request products and services. We also collect information from you when you participate in other business related activities and surveys, when you respond to requests for feedback.

For example when purchasing a publication, registering for an event or paying members or other fees, or requesting notification of publications and media advisories by email, we may collect personal information such as your payment information or email address. We also keep a record of your contact with Reed Construction Data, including copies of any correspondence you send to us and your history of transactions with Reed Construction Data (e.g. events attended, publications ordered, fees paid).

How this information is used

  • To provide you with this Site and other products and services, such as electronic and print publications and newsletters
  • To respond to your inquires and contact you about changes regarding the Site

Information you provide to Reed Construction Data is used only to deliver programs and services, process your subscription, membership or event payment, and to keep you informed of on-going Reed Construction Data events, product launches, education sessions, tradeshow and conferences.

Under no circumstances will Reed Construction Data rent, sell or trade any of your information whatsoever.

Safeguarding your information

Any personal information that you share with Reed Construction Data, Reed Business Information, or the parent company of Reed Elsevier is kept physically and electronically secure, with access limited to staff that require it to perform necessary job functions. Information is used only for the purpose it was collected.

We utilize security safeguards to protect your information against loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or unauthorized modification. We also use password protocols and encryption and security software to protect personal information when you order a product or service online. Our software is updated periodically to maximize protection.

In a very limited number of circumstances, we may disclose your information to third party service provides who help us administer our relationship with you, in the normal course of business. For example, we need to disclose your financial information to our bank in order to process your fees and payments for events and publications. Reed Construction Data on-line credit card payment services are offered through other websites such as merchant storefront or a partner link, and our technology is often integrated with their sites. Third Parties include:

  • An agent, partner or affiliate or service provider is required to complete the contemplated transaction initiated, including but not limited to sharing your information with other companies (such as your credit card company or banking institution) and exchanging your information with the other party to your transaction. We may also request information about you from third parties in order to provide our services
  • Legal or regulatory agencies
  • A collection agency for the purposes of collecting past due amounts

We only share information that is necessary for the service provider to provide Reed Construction Data with the service. Our service providers are also contractually bound to keep your information confidential, to safeguard your information, to limit their use of your information to the purpose of rendering their service, and to destroy or return your information when it is no longer required.

By withdrawing your consent this may prevent us from providing you with the requested product or services. Please understand that there may be some circumstances in which we are unable to service your membership without consent to use and disclose your information as outlined above.

If you wish to request a copy of your personal information in our records or a list of third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information, please send a written request to our Privacy Officer. We will require acceptable proof of your identification before providing you with a response.

We will provide you with your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. If we are unable to provide you with access to a part of your personal information, we will always explain the reasons why.

If you feel the personal information in our records is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please advise our Privacy Officer and the necessary corrections will be made.

This policy may change from time to time and it is your responsibility to visit and review the policy available on the site periodically, so that you are aware of any changes.

Reed Construction Data retains information only as long as may be reasonable required by status, law, on-going business relationships or other circumstances. Information is stored and may be accessed only by authorized employees on a need to know basis. Electronic files are stored encrypted behind firewalls and other security protocols. We also have appropriate off-line security measures in place in our physical premises and facilities to protect the privacy of your personal information.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. However, due to the design of the Internet and other factors outside of our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third parties.
