Bryan won a Gemini Award for his ability to inspire viewers with skilled expertise while entertaining with a great sense of humour. He will bring that same expertise and humour to his presentations at the Home Show on Saturday, Feb 16 and Sunday Feb 17, both shows at 1:00 pm.
The theme for this year's Design Centre is Sustainable West Coast design in a display called Four Designs - 4 Looks. Four CARE Award-winning designers (www.careawards.com) will each display a different room showcasing their own unique style. The designers are Ines Hanl, The Sky is the Limit Design, Jenny Martin, Jenny Martin Design, Michelle Matte, Michelle Matte Interiors, and JC Scott, JC Scott Eco Design.
An addition to this year's show will be antique & collectible appraisals by Alison Ross from Kilshaw's Auctioneers and Pawnathon Canada. Show visitors can bring their antiques and collectibles to the show for appraising on Saturday Feb 16 and Sunday Feb 17 from 12 noon to 3 pm. Victoria is full of collectible treasures, so we expect some very interesting pieces.
While digging out those treasures, consumers may struggle with their storage and closet space and we have a solution. They can enter the Ugly Closet Contest and a winner will be chosen from photos posted at the Home Show. The prize consists of closet products and services with a retail value of up to $2,000 courtesy of Janet Young, All Organized Storage Ltd. Consumers may enter the contest online at www.chbavictoria.com.
Jeff de Jong, Master Gardener will host CFAX Gardening 101 live from the Home Show on Sunday, February 17, and gardeners can get tips through the weekend from Jeff and experts like Christina Symons and John Gillespie, authors of the popular books Sow Simple and Everyday Eden.
CHBA-Victoria's New Home Buyer and Renovation Seminar will offer advice on how to hire a builder or renovator, and cover contracts, home inspections, and mortgages. Plus, CHBA's Built Green Builders will be on hand to answer questions about environment-friendly home construction. The Home Show features more than 100 exhibitors with advice on design, flooring, cabinets, lighting, decks, windows, roofs, renovations, and new home homes.
