Canadian Company First to Receive International Green Building Certification

EDMONTON, Feb. 1 /CNW/ - Bee-Clean Building Maintenance Inc. is pleased to announce that it is the first Canadian Company to have been awarded both the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and the recently introduced CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) criteria with honours from the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA).

Bee-Clean is one of ten North American companies to have received certification and the only Canadian recipient. In achieving this milestone, the ISSA "...congratulates the pioneer organizations who are the first to achieve CIMS-GB certification and have, therefore, demonstrated a commitment to delivering environmentally preferable cleaning service," said Dan Wagner, ISSA Director of Facility Service Programs. "Not only do these organizations represent the professional cleaning industry as companies of operational excellence, they depict a commitment to sustainability and providing added value to their customers."

The new CIMS-GB dimension focuses on the delivery of environmentally preferable cleaning service, while CIMS applies to the management, operations, and performance systems of cleaning organizations. Compliance with the Standard demonstrates that a cleaning operation is structured to deliver consistent, quality services designed to meet customers' needs and expectations.

"The addition of the ISSA-GB certification to Bee-Clean's list of awards is another step forward in the company's successful growth," said Mark Andrews, Vice President. "The recognition by ISSA further illustrates the importance of corporate Canada's commitment to environmental leadership and quality customer care."

The recognition is particularly constructive as it comes at a time when contracted cleaning practices and services are under greater scrutiny in both government and private facilities. "This is another example of a Canadian company providing international leadership in environmental stewardship," stated Brian Gingras and Jose Correia, Owners. "We are delighted to receive international recognition for the innovation and leadership of our team and our clients."

Bee-Clean Building Maintenance was established in 1967 and currently provides daily custodial services for more than 200 million square feet of commercial, institutional and retail buildings; employing over 9,000 people.

Headquartered in Edmonton, AB and Winnipeg, MB, the company has regional offices located in:

Vancouver Ft. Mc Murray Brandon Toronto Montreal
    Victoria Calgary Regina Ottawa Gatineau
    Kelowna Red Deer Saskatoon London
Prince George Medicine Hat Thunder Bay
                    Lethbridge
