Canadian Construction Association eyes international reciprocity for Gold Seal
The Canadian Construction Association plans to explore the idea of negotiating international reciprocity agreements for its Gold Seal certification.
“We will be looking into it over the next few months,” Ontario General Contractors Association president Clive Thurston said in an interview with Reed Construction Data.
Thurston has been assigned the task of researching the matter for the CCA.
“We’ll be contacting the British association, the American, and talking to them, showing them what Gold Seal can do,” he said.
Gold Seal is a national certification program for ICI (institutional, commercial and industrial) construction managers in the occupations of estimator, superintendent, project manager, owner’s project manager and construction safety co-ordinator.
“Gold Seal is going to be stepping up its profile and the weight that can be added to the Gold Seal title,&rdquo Thurston said
“We now have the professional designation, and we’re going to continue to push that so that Gold Seal becomes the premier accreditation tool in this country.”
