McKay-Cocker Construction takes home gold at Don Smith Commercial Building Awards
McKay-Cocker Construction Ltd. won first-place awards in every category for which they were nominated at the inaugural Don Smith Commercial Building Awards in London, Ont. Feb. 3
The Don Smith awards, launched in 2009 by the Regional Commercial Council of the London St. Thomas Association of Realtors, “recognize and celebrate commercial building excellence.”
Smith’s company, EllisDon, started as a local contracting company in London in 1951.
London-based McKay-Cocker won awards for building achievement in industrial construction (Hanwha L&C Canada), commercial construction (Tepperman’s retail showroom and distribution centre) and institutional construction (Sisters of St. Joseph residence).
