Calgary commercial real estate market on brink of collapse: Cushman & Wakefield
The economic downturn has wreaked havoc on commercial real estate markets across Canada, but no centre has fared as poorly as Calgary, says Cushman & Wakefield senior vice-president Paul Morse.
“Calgary is the market that’s being hit the hardest and will (continue to) be,” Morse told Reed Construction Data during an interview at the CanaData Construction Industry Forecasts Conference in Toronto Sept. 24.
“The economics are probably about to collapse in that marketplace, which makes new economic development difficult.”
In the video interview, Morse also discusses the prospects for other major markets, including Vancouver and Toronto.
