Construction worker escapes serious injury in Toronto crane accident

TORONTO

Police say a construction worker is lucky to be alive, after a recent accident on a downtown Toronto work site.

A load of metal used in concrete walls was being moved by a crane when it fell almost 30 feet down onto the worker on August 12.

The man, in his 50s, suffered just a minor injury to his leg. He was treated on the construction site, which is located at King Street, just west of John Street.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate the incident.
