Red Deer, AB

North highway connector project moves ahead

A consortium was recently awarded the Invited Request for Proposal for preliminary and detailed design services, tendering and construction administration services for Red Deer’s north highway connector project.

Stantec Consulting Ltd, ISL Infrastructure Systems Ltd. and Parkland Geotechnical Consulting Ltd. are all members of the consortium.

The north highway connector project includes two lanes of what will ultimately become a six-lane expressway from the intersection of Highway 11A/Gaetz Avenue to the intersection of Northland Drive/30th Avenue.

The work also includes a four-lane divided arterial roadway along 30th Avenue, with overpass and four-span bridge.

The project’s construction budget is estimated at approximately $100 million. The construction schedule has yet to be established.
