Work moves along at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
Eastern Construction digs deep at Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute site
General contractor Eastern Construction Co. Ltd. began work on the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute in April 2007. Completion has been scheduled for 2010.
Designed by Diamond + Schmitt Architects Inc., the project consists of two, nine-storey research centres.
Consultants are: Carruthers & Wallace Ltd. (structural); H.H. Angus & Associates (mechanical/electrical); and Ferris & Associates Inc. (landscape).
Subcontractors include Terrasan Environmental (excavation); Anchor Shoring & Caissons Ltd.; Alliance Forming; C & T Reinforcing Steel Co. (1987) Ltd.; Limen Group (precast/masonry); and Dufferin Concrete.
Also on the list of subcontractors are Black & McDonald (mechanical); Guild Electric Ltd.; Vipond Fire Protection; Merit Glass Ltd.; Semple-Gooder Roofing Ltd. (prefinished metal cladding); Bothwell-Accurate Ltd. (waterproofing); Triumph Roofing; and Kone Inc. (elevators).
