Armtec buys Burnco in $50 million deal

GUELPH, Ont.

Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund, a southwestern Ontario-based maker of sewer pipe and bridge components, says it has struck a deal to acquire Alberta-focused Burnco Concrete Products Ltd. for $50 milliion.

The purchase from the Calgary-based Burnco Group of Companies is expected to close July 31.

Burnco Concrete produces a wide variety of precast concrete products and pre-mixed package products as well as construction materials. The company has four plants in Calgary and Edmonton and employs about 260 people.
