Saskatchewan Transportation builds Regina bus terminal to LEED standards
Agency has no plans for certification, however, due to cost involved
Construction crews are busy putting the finishing touches on the new $25.5 million Regina terminal and offices for the Saskatchewan Transportation Co.
The new facility is expected to open in October. Removing old basements, improving utilities and labour shortages delayed the project’s originally expected January opening. The building is built to LEED Silver standards but will not seek certification due to costs involved. It features natural lighting and an air curtain designed to keep bus exhaust fumes from entering the building.
