Bird Construction Income Fund sees profits double in third-quarter earnings

Bird Construction Income Fund says its third-quarter profit nearly doubled on higher revenues and hiked its distribution 25 per cent.

The company also announced a special year-end distribution. The Toronto-based construction firm reported a profit of $11.3 million, or 82 cents per unit, for the three months ended Sept. 30 compared to net income of $6.5 million, or 47 cents per unit in the 2006 quarter. Revenues were $226 million in the period compared to $146 million.
