Provincial transportation minister Kathleen Wynne, Toronto Mayor David Miller, and federal skills development minister Diane Finley have a go at demolishing a brick wall during the recent groundbreaking for the $640 million revitalization of Toronto’s Union Station.

An artist’s conception, below, shows what the exterior of the station on Front Street West will look like.

Toronto is contributing the bulk of project costs at $304 million, with the province and federal governments contributing $172 million and $164 million respectively. Work is expected to be completed in 2015.

The construction manager is Vanbots, a division of Carillion Construction Inc.
