An inquest will be held into the death of Bogdan Malek, who died from injuries he sustained at a Georgetown-area construction site in 2004.

Malek, 48, died in hospital on Oct. 29, 2004, after falling from the second level of a single-storey home under construction on Eighth Line, north of Georgetown. Halton Police reported at the time that Malek landed on a rocky area on the ground and was pronounced dead a short time later at hospital.

An inquest is mandatory when a worker dies as a result of an accident occurring at a construction project. The three day inquest will review the events surrounding the death and look at construction site safety issues.
