Worker killed in Mississauga, Ontario by forming panel

A 26-year-old concrete worker from Kitchener, Ont. was recently killed in a hoisting incident at a Mississauga-area construction site.

A 26-year-old concrete worker from Kitchener, Ont. was recently killed in a hoisting incident at a Mississauga-area construction site.

The Ministry of Labour is currently investigating the incident that occurred June 1, at an expansion project at the Lakeview Water Treatment Plant. The worker was hit by a steel form panel that was being hoisted at the ASCO Construction project site. A hook came free during the hoist and the panel fell on the Able Concrete worker, reports the ministry. It has been reported by other media that the deceased is Brian Higgins.

Peel Police 12 Division and paramedics attended the scene and the victim was transported to Trillium Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
